CockpitOnly seen in the Miniseries, the Colonial Heavy 798 cockpit was from a Space Shuttle Orbiter simulator from the first STS missions. Some portions of the cockpit were redressed but mostly the simulator was unaltered.

The starliner recovers the Viper into its cargo bay. Coincedentally this scene was Jamie Bamber's first day of pricipal shooting for the Miniseries.
The cargo bay scenes on Colonial Heavy 798 were filmed on the lower car deck of the Queen of Esquimalt BC Ferries at the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. The car deck was redressed very little for the shoot. The only noticeable changes are that the signage has been removed or covered. The Esquimalt's route is Vancouver to Vancouver Island as it is fairly close to the studios. The V Class ferries are one of the only ferries in the fleet that don't have portholes on the car decks besides the Burnaby Class.
